Conducive Work Environment

At IDA, we understand and respect everyone's need to balance personal/family and work commitments. We believe that an employee with work-life balance will be a motivated and committed contributor. As such, IDA offers a wide range of employee well-being and pro-family policies and programmes to create a more conducive and employee friendly work environment so as to motivate our employees to give their best to IDA.

Well-being Programmes and Activities

To encourage our employees to lead a healthy life-style, our recreational club, Fun@IDA, regularly organises fun-filled activities like inter-statutory games, sports carnival, exercise classes, health talks, "eat with your family" day and a Staff Appreciation cum Celebration event. These activities help employees to unwind and offer opportunities for interaction and bonding amidst a culture that encourages diverse views, creative thinking, learning and sharing. Flexi-fit time is also offered to employees to have the flexibility to take time-off to exercise during office hours while IDA's on-site gym and karaoke facilities provide another avenue for stress management and promotes healthy well-being, which is a clear priority of the organisation.

Pro-family Policies and Practices

Leave benefits such as marriage, maternity, paternity, child-care, adoption and compassionate leave also serve to meet employees' needs for a balanced work and family life. Unpaid leave is also available to employees who may need to take an extended period off to take care of their family or for further education.

Flexible Work Arrangement

Another notable family-friendly work practice is the availability of flexible work arrangements. Married female employees may apply for part-time employment if they are unable to commit full time due to child-care and family commitments. Telecommuting work arrangement is also available whereby employees may choose to work from home in the event of child-care emergencies and/or other unforeseen circumstances.

Employee Support Schemes

A suite of employee support schemes and services are provided for employees to enjoy both a fulfilling job and an enriched family and personal life. Some of the benefits under this scheme include marriage and newborn gifts, subsidy for mobile and broadband usage and flexi-benefits reimbursement for child-care and children's educational expenses. In addition, corporate passes for the zoo, bird park and science centre as well as holiday bungalows are offered for the use of employees and their families. Family-life education and health promotion talks and workshops are organised regularly for couples and families.
