To create a pro-consumer and pro-business infocomm environment, IDA formulates infocomm-related policies, standards, codes of practice and advisory guidelines aimed at leveling the playing field for infocomm service providers and empowering consumers and businesses with more choices.

IDA plays an active role in developing Singapore’s pool of globally-competitive infocomm talent and an infocomm-savvy workforce. We are also focused on driving consumer education initiatives, ensuring digital inclusion and supporting the effective use of infocomm in community outreach efforts.

We also seek to inject greater vibrancy into the infocomm ecosystem by attracting world-class global infocomm MNCs and startups to hub in Singapore.

Enterprise Programmes

IDA seeks to strengthen the capabilities of our local infocomm companies by building up domain-specific capabilities in strategic areas, especially those where Singapore has a good track record of successful infocomm implementations. These include e-Government, IT Shared Services, Enterprise Mobility, Cloud Computing, Business Analytics and Infocomm Security.

e-Government

Over the past three decades, the Singapore Government has successfully harnessed ICT to achieve greater efficiency and productivity in the public sector. Its efforts have been recognised internationally, with Singapore consistently ranking top among countries in the world in various e-Government surveys such as Waseda University’s International e-Government Ranking and the World Economic Forum’s Global Information Technology Report.

Shared IT Service Hub

As part of its Shared IT Services Programme, IDA welcomes both infocomm and non-infocomm MNCs to set up their strategic T functions in Singapore and to help create a vibrant infocomm ecosystem that promotes entrepreneurship, innovation and collaboration.

Enterprise Mobility

The Applications-on-Multi-Platforms Simplify (AMPlify) initiative aims to strengthen the domain and technology capabilities of local mobile application developers and enhance their global competitiveness through partnerships with leading global companies.

Cloud

IDA's cloud vision is to sharpen the overall economic competiveness of Singapore through catalysing demand and adoption in key industry verticals, as well as driving the creation of new products to address business needs, and developing manpower capabilities. A key focus is developing capabilities in local Software-as-a-Service companies, to enhance their market competitiveness and consumer focus.

Data & Analytics

IDA takes an integrated approach that involves catalysing demand and seeding early adoption of analytics in key industry sectors, developing infocomm industry and manpower capabilities, establishing scalable and secure data exchange platforms, formulating the appropriate data policies, and developing "data hubs" that will deliver innovative data services and applications. Collectively, these efforts will create a vibrant Data & Analytics ecosystem in Singapore and position Singapore strategically as an international Data & Analytics Hub.

Local and foreign enterprises will be able to leverage on Singapore's Data & Analytics capabilities to apply analytics strategically, to guide business strategy and planning, as well as tactically, to optimise day-to-day business processes. Effective use of analytics will enable enterprises to remain agile and competitive in dynamic market environments, and to maximize productivity.

Infocomm Security

Under the Infocomm Security Masterplan 2, IDA seeks to build up Singapore’s infocomm security capabilities through initiatives that are focused on professional development, strengthening our emergency response mechanisms and developing sector-specific infocomm security programmes.
