Enterprise Mobility
Enterprise mobility is the single biggest trend driving infocomm industry investment and innovation today. The growing need for mobile workforce, emergence of sophisticated yet affordable mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones and introduction of novel business applications will fuel the market for enterprise mobility solutions, which is projected to exceed US$173 billion globally by 2017, according to a report by Global Industry Analysts.
As a leading IT and business hub in the Asia Pacific, Singapore is well-positioned to ride on this wave. It is home to more than 7,000 multinational corporations who provide a potential base of sophisticated users for innovative enterprise mobility solutions. To build on this and create a competitive advantage for Singapore in this space, IDA aims to develop and grow a strong local mobile ecosystem by:
-
Deepening capabilities and catalysing the development of innovative made-in-Singapore solutions that can create an impact for enterprises in Singapore and beyond;
-
Encouraging user organisations to collaborate with our ICT companies to pilot and co-create reference enterprise mobility projects locally, regional and globally; and
-
Coordinating with global partners to develop platforms and channel strategies to facilitate greater export successes for our local companies. These will be complemented by IDA’s internationalisation resources and efforts to export our local capabilities.
IDA’s flagship initiative in enterprise mobility is
Applications-on-Multi-Platforms Simplify (AMPlify)
, under which we work with leading global partners to strengthen the domain and technology capabilities of local mobile application developers and enhance their competitiveness.
