These SIJs offer affordable and accessible infocomm courses from as low as $5-$10 per training hour. Since November 2007, more than 69,000 training places have been attained; Some of the early trainees have since also stepped forward to be 'cyber guides' to impart their infocomm knowledge to their peers.
IDA also taps on a ready pool of infocomm-savvy senior citizens, who have the aptitude for infocomm, to act as course instructors or ambassadors to impart their infocomm knowledge to their peers apart from the experienced trainers. The non-infocomm users will thus feel more comfortable in asking and learning more about infocomm with someone who has gone through similar learning experience.
