To create a pro-consumer and pro-business infocomm environment, IDA formulates infocomm-related policies, standards, codes of practice and advisory guidelines aimed at leveling the playing field for infocomm service providers and empowering consumers and businesses with more choices.

IDA plays an active role in developing Singapore’s pool of globally-competitive infocomm talent and an infocomm-savvy workforce. We are also focused on driving consumer education initiatives, ensuring digital inclusion and supporting the effective use of infocomm in community outreach efforts.

Code of Practice for Next Generation National Broadband Network OpCo Interconnection (OpCo Interconnection Code)

On 18 August 2009, IDA issued an OpCo Interconnection Code in exercise of the powers conferred by section 26(1) (a) to (c), (f) and (g) of the Telecommunications Act (Cap. 323) (the "Act"). The OpCo Interconnection Code is intended to, inter alia, specify the pricing, terms and conditions of Nucleus Connect Pte Ltd's ("Nucleus Connect") services under the Interconnection Offer, and the obligations of both Nucleus Connect and persons requesting such services from Nucleus Connect. The obligations contained in this code are in addition to those contained in the Act, other statutes, regulations, directions, licences and/or codes of practice.

IDA may subsequently incorporate the OpCo Interconnection Code into the Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication Services ("Telecom Competition Code ") when it conducts the next triennial review of the Telecom Competition Code, or at such time as IDA considers appropriate
