Go International

The Internationalisation Programme aims to assist Singapore infocomm local enterprises (iLEs) to establish economic links to global markets and to groom iLEs to be well-known players in the global arena. IDA pursues this programme through a combination of strategies:

  • Establishing Global Presence
IDA has established offices in China, India, Qatar, and the US to help our infocomm enterprises penetrate these key overseas markets and exploit potential opportunities.
  • Enabling Market Access
By leveraging on established relationships such as bilateral agreements, MOUs, and strategic alliances that promote investments between Singapore and other countries, IDA aims to open doors into these foreign markets for iLEs.
  • Providing Market Information
IDA provides assistance to iLEs by keeping a watch on ICT developments in emerging markets, identifying market opportunities, and interfacing between governments and industry and IT associations.
  • Overseas Branding
Overseas tradeshows, mission trips, roadshows, seminars, speaking engagements, etc, provide opportunities for Singapore to profile the abilities of its iLEs and to create opportunities for companies to meet with foreign partners and potential customers.

IDA Global Offices

To date, IDA has established offices in China, India, Qatar and the US. These offices help establish our presence in the key overseas markets and aid iLEs to penetrate the markets. Through a combination of market intelligence and leads, identification of potential opportunities for collaboration, and creating access to decision makers, the overseas offices serve a variety of functions that extend the internationalisation efforts of IDA.

  • Shanghai Office: China Operations

IDA's Shanghai Office was opened in 2002 in response to the tremendous growth opportunities presented by the Chinese market. It serves as a platform for IDA to facilitate and promote the networking and exchange between the Chinese and Singapore infocomm industry. The ISC also provides office facilities, as well as networking activities for partnership facilitation and business referrals.

  • Bangalore Office: South Asia Operations

India's emergence as an IT hub is well documented, especially in the area of software, and this has resulted in a large share of the world's development work being outsourced to India. The Bangalore office was set up to leverage on India's potential as an emerging ICT market and to help establish a gateway for Singapore companies into the larger South Asian market. Vice versa, the Bangalore office also acts as a gateway for Indian companies looking to use Singapore as a gateway for Asia.

  • Qatar Office: Middle East Operations

As the third fastest growing ICT market in the world after China and India, the Middle East will see rapid growth in ICT spending over the next few years. The Qatar Office was therefore set up in 2007, to facilitate Singapore infocomm companies entering the vast Middle East market. By fostering strong working relationships with Government agencies, IT associations and local partners in the region, the office aims to identify potential opportunities for iLEs to participate in the region.
