Health Informatics Summit 2011 - Integration, Information and Innovation through Information Technology
The fourth Health Informatics Summit was jointly organised by IDA Singapore and MOH Holdings on 22 and 23 July 2011, with participation from more than 300 clinicians, administrators and IT leaders across the healthcare continuum. The Summit was opened by
Mr Gan Kim Yong (Minister for Health)
, and the theme of the Summit was "i3 through IT: Integration, Information and Innovation through Information Technology".
Keynote speaker Professor Chee Yam Cheng (NHG, Singapore) kick-started the summit with his engaging topic "Medical IT - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly". The panel discussions enjoyed active participation from international speakers including Dr Martin Harris (Cleveland Clinic, US), Dr Mukesh Haikerwal (National E-health Transition Authority, Australia), Dr Wong Chun Por (Hong Kong Hospital Authority), Dr Ruchi Dass (Commonwealth Connect Program, India), Prof Kim Suk Wha (Korea u-Health Association), Prof Satoko Tsuru (University of Tokyo, Japan), Mr Klaus Boehncke (Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Australia), Mr Ian Rowe (Orion Health Limited, New Zealand), A/Prof Dennis Ross-Degnan (Harvard Medical School, US) and Dr Mahendran Maliapen (NUHS, Singapore). The plenary sessions by Dr Ed Brown (Ontario Telemedicine Network, Canada) and Ms Kate Clemans (Crowell & Moring International, US) provided further food for thought in the areas of telemedicine and global challenges in chronic disease management.
