Executive Briefing - 2011: Unleashing the Potential of IPv6 for Business Continuity and Growth

The IPv6 Executive Briefing session held on 17 Nov 2011 focuses on the potentials of IPv6 for business continuity and growth. The event featured distinguished speakers from companies such as Amazon, IDC, LGA, Matrix Networks, NTT Communications and NewMedia Express, sharing their success stories and business decisions of IPv6 deployment. The event was a success with more than 65% of participants were the senior managements and C-levels executives in the ICT industries.

IPv6 Technical Conference - Transitions to IPv6

13-14 April 2011
The IPv6 Technical Conference, the largest IPv6 event organised by the IPv6 Task Force to date, attracted over 300 participants. The keynote session was delivered by Mr Paul Wilson, Director General of the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). Other highlights included IPv6 Programme Updates by Mr Liang Seng Quee, Deputy Director, IDA; a presentation on the Singapore IPv6 Adoption Guide and Survey by Mr Paul Sumner, Senior Manager with Analysys Mason; and an overview of Nationwide IPv6 Adoption by Mr Kerk Chun Seng from the Singapore Internet Exchange (SGIX) and Mr Han Chuan from the Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC).

IPv6 Workshop

12&15 April
This hands-on technical workshop was conducted by APNIC. It provided participants with an understanding of IPv6 and its structure, operation, security and technical features. IPv6 addressing and architecture was discussed in detail, and the issues related to the deployment, transition, and coexistence with IPv4 were examined. The course also included configuration and demonstration of IPv6 on host computers as well as IPv6 network building and configuration examples.

Executive Briefing - 2010: Lighting up IPv6

About 120 participants attended this Executive Briefing, during which IDA shared updates of its IPv6 Transition Programme with the industry and government agencies. Prominent IPv6 experts also spoke about their experiences in deploying the protocol within their enterprise environment. They included Mr Miwa Fujii, Senior IPv6 Specialist with APNIC; Mr John Jason Brzozowski, Chief Architect, IPv6, and Distinguished Engineer, Comcast Corporation; and Mr Lorenso Collitti, IPv6 Lead, Google.

Executive Briefing - IPv6 Deployment by Governments

This session focused on the need for Government agencies to be prepared for IPv4 exhaustion in order to ensure the continued smooth delivery of Internet-enabled services. It also highlighted the speed of IPv4 depletion and the message that transition to IPv6 was inevitable to ensure the growth of the Internet.

Executive Briefing - IPv4/IPv6 experience sharing by experts from around the world

The Executive Briefing provided a platform for participants to learn from prominent IPv6 experts who have deployed IPv6 in countries such as Australia, Japan and the United States. Speakers included Mr Paul Wilson, Director General of APNIC; Mr Greg Davies, Senior Technology Architecture Specialist from Telstra and Mr John Gibbins from the Australian Government IPv6 Community of Expertise.
