i-Singapore
i-Singapore is the key programme that drives the awareness and adoption of geospatial technology and applications in the private sector. Under this programme, many i-Singapore themes are developed to promote opportunities in different industry segments. Geospatial technology is also an enabler for location aware applications for consumers and businesses supported by i-Singapore.
Green Data Centre
Data Centres (DC) are heavy users of energy whereby their energy bill makes up a significant portion of their operating budget. The Green Data Centre initiative aims to boost the competitiveness of the DC industry by raising their overall energy efficiency.
National Internet Measurement Infrastructure
IDA deploys a National Internet Measurement Infrastructure (NIMI) that conducts its own independent measurements on fixed residential broadband services. IDA measures the throughput and latency performance for both the local and the international (US-Singapore) Internet connectivity. Every month, IDA publishes the summary results as well as the detailed 24-hour performance charts, together with the ISPs' broadband service pricing information. The purpose is to help the consumer make informed choices on the broadband services available.
The IPv6 Transition Programme
IPv6 Transition Programme is a national effort spearheaded by IDA in its role as the national planner for Infocomm development, to address the issue of IPv4 exhaustion and to facilitate the smooth transition of the Singapore Infocomm ecosystem to IPv6. It involves a two-pronged approach to drive IPv6 adoption in the nation as well as encourage the efficient use of the remaining pool of IPv4 addresses to minimise the risks of depletion.
People Sector Transformation
The objectives of The People Sector Programme is to "increase awareness and promote greater adoption of infocomm" and "to increase sophistication and savviness of the adult population", with respect to the usage of infocomm. We partner strategic People Sector Organizations (PSOs) who have large community reach to have multiplier effect for the programme's thrusts.
