As part of our series of market access support, IDA is organising the iSTART@Beijing and iSTART@Shanghai programme. Through delegation trips to each of these destinations, IDA will engage China-based incubators, investors and companies, to help Singapore-based start-ups enter the Chinese market. They would help participating companies understand market dynamics, and connect with key individuals with the intent of securing customers, investors, and partners - through a variety of targeted meetings, events and workshops organised for the delegation.

Since the launch of the Applications-on-Multi-Platforms Simplify (AMPlify) initiative in 2010 to strengthen the domain and technology capabilities of local mobile application developers and enhance their global competitiveness, it has groomed more than 40 developers in various mobile application development skill sets. In June 2012, IDA has enhanced the AMPlify initiative to focus on enterprise mobility, targeting to benefit more than 100 developers and 150 students in a year's time.

In an increasingly complex global marketplace, Data & Analytics enables enterprises to derive insights from vast amounts of data to make better decisions and create a competitive edge for themselves. IDA aims to develop Singapore into an international Data & Analytics Hub, by taking an integrated approach that involves catalysing demand and seeding early adoption of analytics in key industry sectors, developing infocomm industry and manpower capabilities, establishing scalable and secure data exchange platforms, formulating the appropriate data policies, and developing “data hubs” that will deliver innovative data services and applications.

The closing date of the RFI is 31 January 2011.

The iSTART:ACT (Accelerate & Commercialise Technology) programme is a pilot grant scheme that aims to encourage and assist Singapore-based start-ups to accelerate technology commercialisation and catalyse go-to-market activities by leveraging internationally-proven technologies. iSTART:ACT focuses on enhancing start-up business viability by leveraging established technology to overcome the valley-of-death phase that start-ups face.
