IDA values collaboration with the industry to develop a vibrant infocomm ecosystem. For instance, through its Call-For-Collaboration and other industry facilitation processes, IDA last year appointed three national Grid Service Providers that are today offering pay-per-use access to compute, storage and software facilities. The Singapore Government also intends to call for S$1.73 billion worth of new infocomm tenders in this financial year. This is in addition to other new initiatives that IDA seeks to implement with the industry’s support.
As the infocomm environment is a fast-changing one, iN2015 is intended to be a living and evolving masterplan that will be further reviewed, taking into account technological and global market developments, as well as industry feedback, to ensure its continued relevance. In this manner, iN2015 will help to harness infocomm and drive the way forward for Singapore economically and socially, towards being an Intelligent Nation, a global city, powered by infocomm.
