Discussing mobile innovations at Saudi seminar
Six Singapore mobile technology companies joined Saudi telecom service provider Mawj Telecom in showcasing mobile innovations at the 2013 Infocomm Seminar and Exhibition, which was held in Riyadh from 25-27 November. Themed “Technology Innovation: Empowering Mobility Lifestyle”, it was the first Singapore event on mobile innovation to be held in Saudi Arabia, and attracted some 100 decision makers and executives from the Saudi Government and private organisations.
Organised by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Saudi-Singapore Business Council (SSBC) and supported by Mawj Telecom, the seminar provided a platform for discussing how mobile technologies can open up new opportunities in Saudi’s fast-paced and growing business market. Key topics that were covered included Mobile Banking Strategy, Next Generation of Secure Mobile Communication, Workforce Mobility, Importance of Big Data and Social Media Intelligence, Maximising WiFi Strategy and more.
Among the companies taking part was V3 Teletech, which shared case studies on the successful implementation of its resource optimisation, management and mobility applications in Singapore. Through its participation in the event, it also hoped to generate greater interest in its solutions in the Saudi Arabia market, and strengthen its working relationship with Mawj Telecom, its representative partner in Riyadh, said Mr Adrian Long, General Manager, V3 Teletech.
“There were few opportunities lined up for us and we are now working on them with Mawj Telecom. We are targeting to get some services up and operating early next year in Riyadh in the areas of Resources Management, Taxis Management, and resources mobility applications,” said Mr Long.
Other Singapore companies who took part in the seminar included Ant Lab, Tree Box Solutions, Tagit, Mayday and Taisys Solutions. Like V3 Teletech, they specialise in mobility products and services and have a track record of successful deployments in Singapore and other international markets.
